5th ANNUAL MONTFORD MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2008Buncombe Turnpike, The Mad Tea Party, The Firecracker Jazz Band, and Every Mother’s Dream will headline the 5th Annual Montford Music & Arts Festival, Saturday May 17 from 10:30am – 8:00pm on Montford Avenue in Asheville. Other performers include Montford Park, Joltwagon, Johnny’s Inhaler, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, The Muses, Joe Mohar and the Plank Spankers, the Asheville Morris Men, Loafer’s Glory Clog Morris, Mountain Dragon Lion Dancers, Three (or Four) Of Us, and Tongues of May. All of these performers have roots in Montford, and along with the juried art show, highlight the artistic strength of one of Asheville’s oldest neighborhoods. This street festival, celebrating its fifth anniversary, is free to the public, and sponsored by the Montford Neighborhood Association, the City of Asheville, Greenlife Grocery, and the Bank of Asheville.
